PLACEHOLDER: replace the title, description, photos, price, SKU, cost and weight before the store opens. It's Active now only so the post-purchase flow can be built and tested.

Where it's used: AfterSell post-purchase offers. 1-, 2- and 3-kit buyers see it if they say no to the extra-kit offer. Every other order (4 kits, or no kit) sees it if they say no to the radio. It never shows after someone buys the radio, since both charge phones. Planned regular price $39.95; post-purchase price $24.95 ($15 off). If you change the regular price, update the discount in AfterSell too. Once it's live, also sell it on the store at the regular price so the crossed-out price on the offer is a real price.

What to look for when sourcing:

  • About 10,000–20,000 mAh, with the watt-hours (Wh) printed on the case. It must be 100 Wh or less to ship.
  • A built-in solar panel, plus USB-C charging from the wall. Solar is the backup, not the main way to charge it.
  • At least two outputs (USB-A and USB-C), so it can charge two phones
  • A built-in flashlight is a plus
  • A safety test report (UL 2056 or IEC 62133) and a UN 38.3 test summary from the supplier. The UN 38.3 summary is needed to ship lithium batteries.
  • Light enough to ship in the kit box (about 1 lb or less)

Shipping: power banks count as lithium-ion batteries (UN3480). USPS ships them by ground only: at most 2 per box, each 100 Wh or less, with a lithium battery mark on the box, and the whole box can't weigh more than 5 lb. Check with your 3PL before launch, especially for big kit orders that ship together.

Claims: list only specs the supplier documents (capacity in Wh, outputs, solar panel wattage). Small built-in solar panels charge slowly, so say the sun "tops it up". No "unlimited power" or "fully charges in X hours of sun". No "waterproof" without an IP rating, and no "military grade" or "EMP-proof". The AfterSell offer text says it keeps a phone charged through an outage and can be topped up in the sun, so the power bank you source needs to do both.
