How it works

Charge it. Pack it. Plug in.

  1. Fortisk power bank charging from a USB wall adapter at home

    Step 1

    Charge it

Plug it in the day it arrives, while the power's still on. The four lights show how full it is. Top it up every few months, so it's full when the grid goes down.

  2. Fortisk power bank stored beside a go-bag with a compass hanging from the carabiner

    Step 2

    Pack it

Keep it where you can grab it in the dark: the kitchen drawer, the glovebox or a go-bag. The carabiner clips it to a bag strap or a belt loop.

  3. Fortisk power bank charging a phone with both bottom flashlight lenses illuminated

    Step 3

    Plug in

When the lights go out, plug in your phone. Charge two devices at once and light up the room. If the outage drags on, set it face-up in direct sun to add charge.

Why buy now instead of when a storm is coming?

Because by then it's too late. Shipping takes days, and store shelves empty fast when a storm is on the way. Order now, charge it the day it arrives, and it's ready before you need it.

How many times will it charge my phone?

About 3 full charges for a typical smartphone, starting from a full power bank. Bigger phones and tablets get fewer, and so does cold weather.

How fast does the solar panel charge it?

Slowly. The panel is a backup for when there's no outlet, not the main way to charge it. Charge it at the wall before a storm. In a long outage, leave it face-up in direct sun to add charge through the day.

Will it work with my phone?

Yes. It has a USB-C port and a USB-A port, so it works with iPhones and Android phones. The included USB-C cable fits most newer phones. Older iPhones need their Lightning cable.

Will it hold its charge in a drawer?

Batteries lose a little charge in storage. Check the lights every three months and top it up, so it's full when you need it.

Can I take it on a plane?

Yes, in your carry-on. At 74 Wh it's under the 100 Wh limit for spare batteries. Power banks aren't allowed in checked bags.

Is it waterproof?

It's splash-resistant (IPX4), so rain and spills are fine. Don't drop it in water.

How many do I need?

One for each phone you'd want to keep charged. Most people pick 2 + 1 free: one at home, one in the car and a spare to share. The bigger the pack, the less you pay per power bank.

What if it's not for me?

You have 90 days. Email us and we'll refund you in full.
